How many of us having the habit of reading books ?How many of us going to the local library to read books ?
Well , most of us not even bothered to read books in this internet era.Due to lack of patronage lot of libraries are facing closure . Some of the youngsters not even know where the local library located . In India lot of libraries face closure or already closed due to less patronage .
We not at all have time to bother about these things.
Some may argue that in the internet era it is absolute waste reading books or visiting libraries when every thing available in the internet. If you are one among those , read the following incident .
In Buckinghamshire town a South East England county , when the local Milton Keynes Council proposed to close the local library named "Stony Stratford Library" as a part of saving money , the people of the town
borrowed all 16,000 books from the library , around 378 books per hour , in order to prevent the closure of the library .
They also campaigned through on line,and write petition against the proposed closure of the library . This way they showed their love in reading books, as well as protecting the local library .
Hats off to them.
