After the drawn 3 rd test between India and South Africa , and with a one all drawn series , Indians were able to retain their No.1 .status in the ICC test rankings.
India retained their No.1 ranking with 128 rating points. Though the series is said to be a one sided one before Indian's departure to the South Africa , considering India's poor performance in the foreign soils , especially in South Africa , Indian players able to break the zinx and able to draw the series .
South Africa remain in the Second position with 117 rating points.
The England team which out played the once mighty Australians with a clean 3-1 series win , and retained the ashes cup, and winning a series in Australian soil after 24 years climbed to the Third spot with 115 rating points.
Srilanka remain in the Fourth place with 109 rating points .
The Australians who once dominated the world cricket and the test ranking for long time dropped to Fifth place with 107 rating points.
Pakistan with 88 rating points is in Sixth place, and West Indies with 85 rating points remain the Seventh place.Newzeland with 80 rating points stood in Eighth place. Bangladesh remain in the Ninth place with just 7 rating points.
