Nothing belongs to anyone. Possessiveness is rampant in every thought and action, and that leads to the inflation of the ego.

Short sleep duration Less than 5 hours or 5 to 6 hours
increases the risk for high BP by 350% to 500% compared to those who slept longer than 6 hours per night.

Young people between 25-49 years of age are twice as likely to get high BP if they sleep less.

People who slept less than 5 hours a night had a 3-fold increased risk of heart attacks.

Sleeping for less than 5 hours per night leads to 39% increase in heart disease.

Give up pride of status, wealth, scholarship and position, and practise humility, obedience, discipline and compassion.

Be always on the alert against the four sins that the tongue is prone to commit - Speaking falsehood, Speaking ill of others, Backbiting and Talking too much.

It is best to attempt to control these tendencies. One must be always very vigilant, without a moment's carelessness against the eight sins that the mind perpetrates - Craving, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Impatience, Hatred, Egoism and Pride.

Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember.

To pray for our loved ones is, a "sweet duty".

The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal.

They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders.

These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger.

It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night.

SYMPTOMS OF HEART ATTACK

We should be aware that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.

We should be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

We may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.

Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.

60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.

Pain in the jaw can wake us from a sound sleep.

Let us be careful and be aware of the symptoms .

HEART AND HOT WATER

We have to drink hot water after we finish our meals instead of cold water .

The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water.It is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water:

It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.

Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Sri Aurobindo statue at UNESCO Head Quarters

One of the important spritual leader, philosopher of modern India Sri Aurobindo's statue is installed in UNESCO's head quarters in the Paris on September 16 th 2009.

It is sculpted by a Puduchery based art gallery Aurodhan .

It is made up of bronze and it has seven and half feet height. It is finished in two years time.

More than 250 prominent personolities from all over the world attended the function .

THE FOUR YUGAS

According to Hindu mythology there are four yugas . They are Kirutha Yuga , Thretha Yuga , Dwapara Yuga , and Kali Yuga .

According to vedas Kirutha Yuga contains 17 lakhs and 28 thousand years .

Thretha Yuga contains 12 lakhs and 96 thousand years .

Dwapara Yuga contains 8 lakhs and 64 thousand years .

We are now in Kali Yuga and it contains 4 lakhs 32 thousand years .

So far 5110 years are compleated in the Kali Yuga .

Wherefrom does humanness come? It comes from your heart. Here, the heart is not referred to as the physical heart but the spiritual heart, which is free of all blemishes.

Like fragrant air, your purity should spread everywhere. You should share with others, pure thoughts and pure feelings that emanate from you. Whatever you do, it should be helpful to others.
